Bobby Nichols

Bobby Carroll Nichols departed this life on Dec. 1, 2016, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. He was born to the late Deacon Duncan “Buddy” Nichols and Deaconess Sister Argie Walker Nichols of Varnado, on Sept. 10, 1944.

Our beloved brother was preceded in death by: his infant siblings, Cherlene and Clenivus; his oldest brother, Hershel Nichols; his sister, Gloria Dean Prater; his father, Deacon Nichols; his mother, Argie Walker Nichols; Lillie Jean Nichols; paternal grandparents, Cleotha Nichols and Lorena Robinson Nichols; and maternal grandparents, John Anderson Walker and Adreane Pearson Walker.

Survivors include his children, Josephine Moore of Rochester, N.Y., Anthony Mark of New Orleans, Yolanda Nichols (Horace) Price of Flower Mound, Texas, Stephanie Tremele (Ernest Jr.) Spikes of Angie, Darris Dion Sartin, Tonica Smith (Gerald) Johnson, both of Bogalusa, Bobby Kelvin Sartin, Nevers O’Neal Nichols, Kimberly Nichols and Robyn (T’Arny) Sheridan, all of Varnado, and Rozuanda La’Mae (Willie) Youngblood of Angie; his siblings, Maevella Nichols Moore, Donald Ray (Alvenia) Nichols, both of Varnado; his god sister, Carrie Green Gayden of Greenville, Miss.; and a god brother, Harold Harry of Marrero.

He leaves his stepchildren, Shereca Smith and Akesa Mark and mother-in-law, Elnora Robinson; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. A wake service will follow, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Angie.

The funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. at New Zion MBC, with Dr. Rev. Linza Cotton officiating. Interment will be in Moses Cemetery in Varnado.

Services are entrusted to Crain & Sons Funeral Home, 809 E. Third St., in Bogalusa.
