Lennie Estelle Wells Adams, 82, of Baton Rouge, was called up to do the Lord’s work on the afternoon of Dec. 3, 2016. She was born June 21, 1934, to Rainer King Wells and Lennie Mary Tate Wells. She was a member of Ben’s Ford Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, W.V. Adams Jr., of Baton Rouge; four daughters, Cynthia Diane Adams Doubling and her husband Steve of Florida, Tamra Wells Adams of Baton Rouge, Kimberly Olga Adams Kunefke and her husband Brandon of St. Amant, Kristie Lynn Adams of Baton Rouge, a sister, Josephine Mickenheim and her husband Leo of Bogalusa, 10 grandchildren, Jamie Otts, Clint Vallotton, Laine Perry, Shelly Wells, John Wells, Kolby Adam Kunefke,
Gracie Ann Kunefke, Bradypaul “Wildman” Kenefke, Lauren Estelle Adams, and Brennan White; also nine great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Elton Jean Adams and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rainer King Wells and Lennie Mary Tate Wells; by four brothers, Winfred Tate Wells, Lonnie Aubrey Wells, Rainer Emmitt Wells and Jessie Nathaniel Wells; and two sisters, Mary Ella Wells Daigle and Mildred Aline Wells.
Estelle, as she was known by many, worked for the telephone company for over 26 years and enjoyed her early retirement. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and trustworthy friend.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. However, we will rejoice knowing she is safe in the arms of Christ and all of God’s people.
Visitation will begin Thursday, Dec. 8, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and resume after 8 a.m. until the service time Friday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Lynn Martin and Corbin Otts will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Ben’s Ford Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
