Tura Bell Roberson Thurman, born Sept. 12, 1920, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 28, 2016, at her residence at the age of 96. She was a longtime resident of Bogalusa and a member of the First Baptist Church and also worked as a clerk at Star Studio in Bogalusa.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Manzella Huth of Bogalusa; a granddaughter, Traci Manzella Huth; a great-grandson, Colston Roberts; a half-sister, Janice Webb of Gulfport, Miss.; a niece, Ava Burge and two nephews, Johnny Mac Simmons and Randy Simmons; and other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by husbands, P.N. “Shorty” Roberson and J.K. Thurman.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the service time at 1 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Broadwater and the interment will follow in the Mitchell’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
