H.V. “Sonny” Jenkins, 82, of Bogalusa, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at his residence.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Breland Jenkins; his daughters, Crystal Fay Callais, Debbie and Dutchess Diane “DD;” grandchildren, Kelsey Lott, Carly Mae Jenkins and Sarah Chyenne Holcomb; sisters-in-law, Iris Ann Jenkins and Rachael Jenkins; as well as other relatives and friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Snake and Granny Dutch Byrd Jenkins; a daughter, Cynthia Mentel; brothers, Jeffery Jenkins and Dennis Jenkins; a sister, Donna Fay Lee; and his brother-in-law, Donald Lee.

Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 15, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home.

Interment followed at Hunt Jenkins Cemetery in Bogalusa
