Susan Stewart

Susan Lancaster Stewart, a resident of Bogalusa, 65, born on Dec. 12, 1951, passed away on March 2, 2017, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

She was a volunteer for Little League, with the Southwest Athletic Association, and Bogalusa Sports Association. She was involved with scouting for the Boy Scouts, and a Horizons Camp Fire Leader. She was active in cancer awareness and involved in Relay for Life. She helped with the children’s choir at Memorial Baptist Church. She was a volunteer in the school system. Susan was also an active donor for The Blood Center.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Glenn Stewart (Ashley) of Covington, and Kyle Lynn Stewart of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and one sister, Sandy Wheat (Jimmy) of Crossroads, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Glenn Stewart; and her parents, Samuel Ernest Lancaster Jr. and Sallie Adele Alsobrooks Lancaster.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Field Thigpen officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
