FHS’s Draheir Magee takes 2nd in high jump

Franklinton’s Draheir Magee finished as runner-up in the high jump at the Ponchatoula Relays that were held last Friday.
Magee’s high jump was 4 feet, 4 inches. Fontainebleau’s Ainsley Scott won the event at 5-4.
The Lady Demons also finished second in the 4×200 relay race in 1 minute, 54 seconds. The team featured Tellise Magee, India Dickerson, Jayln Bickham and Raelyn Gross. Hammond High Magnet won the event in 1:53.
Tellise Magee recorded a top-three finish for the long jump. Her distance was 13-2. Ponchatoula’s Alliyah Williams won at 15-3. Draheir Magee was fifth at 12-9.5.
Lizzy Vise was fifth in the pole vault at 5-0, as Fontainebleau’s Gaby Bird was victorious at 10-0.
Danaria Magee (60-0) and Aleria Dillon (38-4) were seventh and 10th in the discus, as Ponchatoula’s Kelsey Watts won at 84-1.
Danaria Magee (71-1) and Hayle Davidson (62-4) were sixth and 10th for the javelin, as Destrehan’s Tayler Tabb won at 96-5.
Dillon (26-7) and Marlaysia Robertson (26-0.5) were fourth and sixth for the shot put. Destrehan’s Joycelyn Davis was the winner at 30-1.5.
Gross (29.40) and Dickerson (31.54) ran sixth and ninth in the 200 with Fontainebleau’s Ezra McCaw winning in 26.54.
Vise was seventh for the 1,600 at 8:38. Ponchatoula’s Blair Vignes won in 5:59.
Bickham ran a 13.89 to finish fourth in the 100, as McCaw won that race in 12.59.
Vise was seventh in the 800 with a time of 3:22, as Fontainebleau’s Paige Anderson won in 2:31.
Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team of Tellise Magee, Draheir Magee, Bickham and Gross finished in 54.84 to finish fifth. Destrehan won in 52.37.
Draheir Magee (1:27) and Tellise Magee (1:33) were seventh and eighth for the 400, as Fontainebleau’s Sydni Cowan won in 1:05.
Franklinton was fifth in the team competition with 39 points.
Ponchatoula won the meet with 163 points in a close one. The Lady Wave was victorious by just one point over Fontainebleau.
Destrehan (78) was third, followed by Hammond High Magnet (56), Franklinton and Albany (17).
