Shoot for Success Basketball Camp postponed until July
The Shoot for Success Basketball Camp at Franklinton High School has been postponed.
The new dates for the clinic are July 19-21.
The clinic, which costs $60, runs from 8 a.m. until noon the first two days and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. the final day. Third through eighth graders are eligible to participate.
The cost includes T-shirt and lunch/food for all three days and you can register the day of the camp.
The camp will work on the basic fundamentals of basketball and promote teamwork and competition. Participants will work with all Franklinton High School coaches and current Demons’ players.
There will be practice sessions the first two days of the camp. On the final day, participants will play two five-on-five games and there will be a guest speaker. The teams will be based on age and skill level.
Parents and fans may attend the games. Each camper receives two tickets for entry. Admission is $3 without a ticket.

Muscular Dystrophy Benefit Golf Tournament this weekend
The Muscular Dystrophy Benefit Golf Tournament that was scheduled to take place at the Bogalusa Country Club tomorrow has been postponed because of weather.
The new date is being determined.
Demon Baseball Camp later this month
The 2017 Demon Baseball Camp takes place June 26-29 at Franklinton High School’s baseball field.
The total skills camp is for ages 5-14.
Fundamentals of the game will be taught and emphasized through drills and team play. Participants will be placed into groups according to their age and abilities.
Campers 5-8 year old will go from 9 a.m. until noon and 9-14s attend from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The fees are $50 for morning campers and $100 for all day participants.
Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.

British Soccer Camp coming up
A British Soccer Camp is being held at the Bogalusa Sports Complex on Avenue B from June 26-30.
The camp teaches speed and agility, juggling, foot skills, passing/control, dribbling and shooting.
Times to attend are available in the morning and evening.
The first kicks group, which are 3 to 5 year olds take place from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. There’s another session from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The cost is $106 per time.
The half-day clinic for 6-11s occur from 9 a.m. through noon for $158. There’s another half-day camp in the evening for 7-18s that is 5:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. for $158.
The mini soccer group for 5 and 6 year olds is from 6:30 p.m. through 8 p.m. The cost is $121.

40 & 8 golf tournament is next month
The 40 & 8 Golf Tournament takes place July 8 at the Bogalusa Country Club to help benefit the veterans and school children.
The 40 & 8 organization gives nurses’ scholarships, flags for first graders parish wide, ponemah wreaths for veterans headstones, flags for veterans grave sites and help for needy veterans.
The tournament begins at 8 a.m. Registration for the 2-person scramble costs $100 per person. The fee includes, food, drinks and the tournament. There will be a silent auction. There will also be a closest-to-the-hole contest, hole-in-one and a free mulligan.
Following the tournament, there will be a putting tournament. The fee is $5 per putt and the winner will split the pot.
Sponsorships are available and cost between $50 and $500. The sponsorship deadline is June 23.
There is no deadline for playing in the tournament.

Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce Saints Raffle
The 11th annual Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce Saints Ticket Raffle is under way.
The first drawing takes place Friday, July 14. That’s for first and second place prizes, each being for one preseason game. The first drawing is for the preseason game that takes place Saturday, Aug. 26 against the Houston Texans and the second is for the contest on Thursday, Aug. 31 when the Saints face the Baltimore Ravens,
The winners from this drawing’s names go back into the drawing for the opportunity to win season tickets.
The seats are in section the club level in section 315, row 17, seats 19-20.
The season ticket drawing is taking place Friday, Aug. 4.
The drawing is for two regular season tickets in the club level in section 315, row 17, seats 19-20.
The tickets are for regular season home games only and does not include playoff games.
Raffle tickets cost $25 and 500 at most will be sold.
Tickets can be bought at Yoyo’s and Golden Pear. You can also buy tickets at the Bogalusa Chamber at 608 Willis Ave.

Bogalusa Baseball Summer Camp in July
The Bogalusa Baseball Camp takes place July 26-28 at the Bogalusa Sports Complex.
Hitting, position specific fundamentals, throwing, base running, bunting and sliding will be covered.
The clinic is for ages 4 through 15.
The clinic runs from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. for 4-6s and 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. for 7-15s.
The cost is $50 for 4-6s and $75 for 7-15s.
The fee includes a T-shirt and lunch will be provided for ages 7-15.
Registration deadline is July 12.
