On Monday, agents with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at 1911 Blueberry Drive, Apartment 4, in Bogalusa, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the WPSO.

The search warrant reportedly yielded heroin, promethazine, hydrocodone, suboxone, Xanax, marijuana, four handguns, a large amount of ammunition, body armor, digital scales and $1,086 in cash.

Arrested were Darius J. Dobson, 23, a resident of the Blueberry Drive apartment, and Markus Kortez Mark, 22, a resident of Jones Creek Road in Angie. Both men were transported to the Washington Parish Jail.

Dobson remains in jail with his bond set at $500,000. He is charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule III drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, possession of Schedule V drugs, conspiracy to possess narcotics with the intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substances with weapons present, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dobson has one previous stay in the Washington Parish Jail, Haley said. On Feb. 11, 2017, he was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of failure to appear in court and having an illegal tinted windshield. He was released on Feb. 13, 2017, after posting a $6,800 bond.

Mark remains in jail with his bond set at $500,500. He is charged with two counts of possession of Schedule I and Schedule V drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule II drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule III drugs, possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, convicted felon in possession of firearms, and failure to appear in court.

Mark spent a week in the Washington Parish Jail in 2015 charged with failure to appear and domestic violence with strangulation, Haley said. He was released on April 6, 2015, after posting a $5,050 bond.

“Neither one of these fellows deserves to roam free in society,” Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Judging by the cache of drugs, weapons and ammunition they possessed, it seems obvious they had devious plans in mind. They certainly were not on their way to Sunday school.

“Our officers and the DEA agents did a great job in arresting them and preventing future crimes. I am so pleased with the excellent working relationship our narcotics officers have with DEA. They are a valuable resource to us and we appreciate all that they do.”
