Bogalusa competes in cross country invitational meet

Bogalusa had a pair of runners in the 2017 St. Thomas Aquinas-Dutchtown Cross Country Invitational that took place Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Dustin Wager and Juan Martinez finished 35th and 36th, respectively. Wager ran the three-mile race in 16 minutes, 11 seconds. Martinez posted a 16:13 for the event.
Dutchtown’s Alec Snell won the meet in 10:41, with St. Thomas Aquinas’ John Ross Donnes less than a second behind for a runner-up finish in the 39-runner field.
Dutchtown’s Quentin Faulkner was third, followed by Jewel Sumner’s Nick Story and Christ Episcopal’s Luke Acosta.
Dutchtown won the team event with 25 points.
Jewel Sumner’s 57 was good for second, followed by Christ Episcopal with 69 points. Archbishop Hannan was fourth at 80.
Teams needed at least five runners to qualify for team points.
