Drug arrests made

Two Bogalusa residents were arrested on drug charges after the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office requested backup from the Bogalusa Police Department at a residence in the 900 block of Avenue H on Monday, according to Maj. Percy Knight, public information officer for the BPD.
“The officers were at the residence looking for a large sum of money from an earlier theft,” Knight said. “Officers were given verbal consent to search the residence. Officers located a Baggie containing a white powder substance of suspected cocaine lying next to a scale in the living room area.

“Officers entered the bedroom and located a loaded syringe with a spoon lying next to it. Officers also located 12 different pills, multiple syringes and spoons and an ashtray containing roaches of suspected marijuana.”

Duane J. Whitney, 37, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of possession of legend drugs, possession of heroin, and possession of marijuana.

Amber N. Palmer, 32, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
