Patrick Conques

Patrick “Sonny” Conques, 76, a resident of Franklinton, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 28, 2017, at North Oaks Medical Center.
Sonny was an offshore worker for Marathon Oil for over 27 years. He volunteered at the Mile Branch Settlement cracklin’ pot during the parish fair for many years. Sonny was a former member of the Franklinton Lions Club and the Mt. Hermon Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf and loved doing crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed watching his favorite old Western movies.
He is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Melissa C. Goings and Michael Goings of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin A. Conques and Crystal Conques of Covington, and Darrell Viator and Bunnie Viator of Carencro; seven grandsons, Brady Goings, Jordon Conques, Nicholas Conques, Tyler Jones, Braden Conques, Lincoln Conques and Darrell Viator Jr.; granddaughter, Logan Goings; three great-grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Broussard, Dagmar Thibideaux, Yvonne and Burt Frugé, and Pam and Kenneth Navarre; former wife, Dixie Thomas; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Vallot; father and step-mother, Alexandré Conques and Georgina Conques; sister, Maureen C. Goudeau; brother, Emick “T-Boy” Conques; and a very special friend, Mildred Hill.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Myron Schilling and Dr. Joe Baugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
