Memorial services for Mr. Robert Gerald Mitchell will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home of Ball.
Mr. Mitchell, 73, of Pollock, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at his residence in Pollock, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Robert Mitchell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, wood working, telling stories (the same ones over and over). Mr. Mitchell worked a Dresser and at a trunkline for over 28 years combined. He liked the simple things in life like “checking the mail” and drinking coffee while watching the History Channel. Mr. Mitchell was also a Grant Parish reserve deputy for 21 years and a lifetime notary. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Patricia Mitchell of Pollock; one son, Robert G. Mitchell Jr. (Margaret) of Pollock; two step-sons, Derek Sharp and Adam Davis of Pollock; two daughters, Aubri Jayde Davis of Pollock and Patti Swart (Tim) of Haughton; two step-daughters, Shanda Foster and Angela Davis of Pollock; a sister, Rose Stokes of Rayville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, from 11 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m.
