John Robert Stogner, 51, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at his residence in Bogalusa, surrounded by his wife and two daughters. He was born on Oct. 18, 1966, in Bogalusa. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked with the Bogalusa Police Department, Washington Parish Sheriff Department, Kotzebue Police Department in Alaska, Our Lady of the Angels Hospital as a security guard and also worked for the Sand Point Police Department in Alaska.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Eva Stogner of Bogalusa; two daughters, Skyler Stogner and Dakota Stogner, both of Bogalusa; a sister, Kim Stogner of Amite; and a brother, Jim Stogner of Amite; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Stogner; a sister, Emily Stogner; and his grandparents that raised him, Bertha and Jim Stogner.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 19, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Keith Sheridan officiating. Cremation will follow.
