BOYS
Mt. Hermon defeats Runnels
Mt. Hermon School’s George Smith scored 22 points and dished out five assists in a 69-58 victory over Runnels in a District 7-B game held Friday at Mt. Hermon.
Ike Tate posted 12 points and five boards.
Lafell Thomas recorded 12 points.
Device Taylor tallied nine points and seven assists while Tevin Williams put up eight points and Za’byeaus Holmes recorded six in the victory for Mt. Hermon.
The victory improved Mt. Hermon’s record to 15-4.
Pine falls to Amite
Pine’s Raiders suffered a 59-29 loss to Amite in a District 9-2A contest that took place Friday at home.
Tristan Jones and Jordan Anderson tied for the top scorers for Pine with seven points each. Both players hit a 3-pointer.
Chance Woodward and Xavier Elzie tallied three each while Eric Crosby, Kaz Warren, Karson Voth and Bryson Knight all recorded two points and Markell Cotton added one for the Raiders. Woodward posted a 3-pointer for the Raiders.
Pine fell to 4-20 after the loss.
GIRLS
Mt. Hermon downs Runnels
Mt. Hermon’s Lady Jackets posted a 41-9 win over Runnels in Friday’s District 7-B game that took place at Mt. Hermon.
The Lady Jackets had a balanced scoring attack.
Destiny Lewis led Mt. Hermon with 12 points, and Kalei Hughes posted 10.
Patera Williams recorded seven points while Macey Applegate tallied six, Ashiriah Williams had five and Sikoya Jackson added two in the victory.
Mt. Hermon improved its record to 4-10.
