Come hear story of ‘4 Chaplains’

It has been said that those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. The American Legion wants to educate everybody about an extraordinary group of men with its “Four Chaplains of WWII Memorial” on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 4 p.m. in the Bogalusa High School Jr. ROTC building. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free of charge.
The Daily News is sure nobody will want to repeat their actions or their circumstances. But the four were undeniable heroes, who should be known. American Legion Post 24 Commander Bobby Latino recently said if anyone read about what the chaplains did, he or she would have tears in their eyes upon finishing.
The Daily News thinks we all should know about at least the heroes and tyrants in our history. The latter can educate us to whose sway we don’t want to fall under, while the former can give us role models and examples to emulate.
