Myrtis Hart

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorry, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
Myrtis Hart was born to the late Curly and Algie Mae Bickham-Hart on Sept. 13, 1954, in Franklinton. He departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 6, in Baton Rouge. Myrtis was baptized at an early age at New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the late Dr. Willard Vernon and his grandfather, the late Deacon Henry Bickham.
Myrtis was a 1973 graduate of Franklinton High School. After graduation, he relocated to Biloxi, Miss., where he was employed with Ingalls Shipyard of Pascagoula, Miss.
Later in life, Myrtis decided to re-locate to Los Angeles, Calif. Upon his return, he made Hammond his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curly and Algie Mae Hart; and brother, Johnny B. Hart.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Janice; three daughters, Krystal (Latimore) Thompson of Bogalusa, Chelsie Stewart and Kelsie Bradley of Franklinton; one son, Telly Tait of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister, Vera (Tyrone) Burton of Biloxi; two brothers, Curley Jr. of Hammond and Vincent (Debbie) Hart of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Alma Hart; four grandchildren, Khrystian and Kashmere Scott, Kie’osh and Tellyana Tait; and a very special cousin which he called his brother, Thurman Cotton Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, with the service at 11 a.m. Service is entrusted to Cook-Richmond Funeral Home of Bogalusa.
