Mt. Hermon’s Hyatt no hits Independence

Mt. Hermon’s Byron Hyatt threw a no hitter in an 11-1 victory over Independence at home Monday.
Hyatt accomplished the feat by allowing one run with four walks and a hit batter. Hyatt struck out 12 in the victory.
“That’s the best game he’s pitched for me since he started. He’s smoothed his mechanics out and it’s resulted in him filling the zone up,” Mt. Hermon coach Matt Sessions said.
Offensively, Hyatt finished with a double, a walk, two RBIs and three runs.
Travell Brumfield posted two hits, three RBIs, a walk, two steals and two runs scored.
Kam Brumfield recorded a hit with an RBI, a walk, two steals and a run in the 10-run victory for Mt. Hermon.
