Bowling Green tops Ben’s Ford
Bowling Green School scored four runs in the fifth inning to turn a 1-0 lead into a 5-0 advantage and defeated Ben’s Ford Christian School, 6-1, in a road game held Thursday.
Cam Bell, Andy Bienvenu and Harrison Jones all recorded two hits for Bowling Green.
Bell scored a run and drove in a run.
Bienvenu doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Jones doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Buccaneers.
Drew Wagner posted one hit, which was a double.
Denzel Evans and Grady Ball scored a run each and Hunter Wilkinson posted an RBI in the victory.
Jones was the winning pitcher after allowing one unearned run on no hits with six strikeouts and six walks.
James Taylor pitched a scoreless one-hit frame in relief.
Mt. Hermon defeats Varnado
Mt. Hermon’s Colby Smith threw a complete game and Trey Brumfield and Kam Brumfield recorded two hits each in a 4-3 win over Varnado at home on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
Smith allowed no earned runs on four hits with nine strikeouts, and three walks.
Trey Brumfield tripled, walked, scored two runs and stole two bases.
Kam Brumfield drove in a run, scored a run and stole two bases.
Gage Hamilton tallied a hit, which was a double, posted an RBI and recorded a run for the Yellow Jackets.
