Fowler, Brooks record 4 hits each in Lady Demons’ victory

Franklinton’s Brylie Fowler and Bailey Brooks recorded four hits each, helping the Lady Demons win their district opener, 10-6, over St. Scholastica Academy at the SSA Athletic Complex on Thursday.
Fowler went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs sored and a run batted in. Brooks was 4-for-5 with three doubles, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs.
Ashlyn Welch, Sydney Wills and Aleigha Fussell all posted two hits.
Welch doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Wills scored three runs. Fussell drove in three runs.
Bailey Spears, Ashlyn Ard, Kiersten Allen and Missouri Varnado all tallied one hit.
Ard and Allen posted an RBI each and Varnado scored a run and drove one home.
Winning pitcher Fussell allowed three earned runs in a complete game. She struck out seven and walked four.
