BPD’s Rester promoted to sergeant, succeeds Tate

On Tuesday, Patrolman First Class Ryan Rester, of the Bogalusa Police Department, was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Rester has been with the BPD for five years and eight months. He began his service to the city by working at the Bogalusa City Jail for a year and a half.
Rester graduated from high school in 2003, and immediately entered the military, where he served as a chaplain’s assistant. He reportedly passed the exam on April 20, 2017, with a score of 84 percent.
Rester’s promotion was due to the retirement of Sgt. Raymond Tate.
