Lady Bucs’ Dupont captures long jump

Bowling Green School’s Landry Dupont captured the long jump and a Lady Buccaneers’ relay team qualified for South State in last week’s District 4AAA Meet that took place at Jackson Academy in Mississippi.
Dupont was victorious in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 5 inches, and won by an inch over Wayne Academy’s Ashton Stanley.
The meet was a qualifier. The top four finishers from each event advanced to the South State Meet, which will take place at Silliman, today and Saturday. Field events and the 3,200 meters take place today while the rest of the track events are set for Saturday.
Bowling Green’s 4×100 relay team is also headed to South State after a second-place finish with a time of 58.19 seconds. The team featured Dupont, Caroline Wagner, Anna Grace Hingle and KaKa Seal.
Wayne Academy won in 53.74.
Also competing for Bowling Green, Grace Mizell ran sixth in the 100, at 15.49. Wayne Academy’s Cameron Walley won the race in 13.52.
