Carolyn Margaret Boyd, born Oct. 11, 1933, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2018, at the age of 84. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Bogalusa and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bogalusa. She was a member and past president of the Bogalusa Garden Guild, past president of the Civic League, and past treasurer of the Kings & Queens Dance Club.

She leaves behind a son, Jimmy “Jody” Hammond Jr. and his wife Denise of Yucaippa, Calif.; a daughter, Frances Ellen Baham and her husband Buddy of Hammond; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lender and Effie Day Windham; her husband, Gene Horace Boyd; a son, Richard Scott Hammond; a brother, Glyn Windham; and three sisters, Lena Smith, Sue Pierce and Mary Frances Windham.

Visitation will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, beginning at 10 a.m. until the service time at noon. The Rev. Greg Whaley will officiate the service, with the interment to follow in the Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery.
