Parish Farm Bureau Queen contest held

Washington Parish Farm Bureau recently held its Queen and Talent contests at Hillcrest Baptist Church, along with its annual business and dinner.

Abby Leigh Stogner was crowned the new 2018 Washington Parish Farm Bureau Queen. Abby is the 15-year-old daughter of Josh and Leigh Stogner of Bogalusa. She is a sophomore at Bowling Green School, where she is actively involved. She is a member the Buccanette dance team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club, Interact Club, and a Student Council representative. Dance has always a big part of Abby’s life since she was three years old. As a nine-year member of Southern Sass Dance Company, she has been awarded many opportunities. She was awarded a trip to New York City, which included classes with the Rockettes, a week at Walt Disney World, and this past year was awarded the Southern Sass Dance Company Scholarship. Abby is a member of Palestine Baptist Church, and also attends Church of the King. She enjoys volunteering foe VBS, and helping with Sunday School and worship ministry. In her spare time, Abby enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Abby will represent Washington Parish at the State Convention this summer in New Orleans.

The first alternate was Abigayle Strahan of Bogalusa. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Christopher Strahan and Kristie Phelps. Abigayle graduated from Ben’s Ford Christian School and now attends Pearl River Community College. The second alternate was Victoria Luper of Franklinton. She is the 19-year-old granddaughter of Sybil and Rory Beall. Victoria graduated from Pine High School, and now attends Northshore College.

The Washington Parish Farm Bureau Talent Winners were Meleah Champagne, Taylor Jarrell, and Caroline Wagner. The trio performed a fun and energetic routine to “Fashionista” by Jimmy James.

Meleah is the 14-year-old daughter of Troy and Brooke Champagne of Franklinton. She is an eighth grader at Bowling Green School, and is a member of the Treasures Dance Team. Taylor Jarrell is the 14-year-old daughter of Lance and Debbie Jarrell of Franklinton. She is a freshman at Bowling Green School, and is Captain of the Treasures Dance Team. Caroline Wagner is the 14-year-old daughter of David and Kim Wagner of Bogalusa. She is an eighth grader at Bowling Green School, and a member of the Treasures Dance Team.

The girls will represent Washington Parish at the State Convention this summer in New Orleans.
