A Bogalusa resident has been named a second-team all-district player for Pope John Paul II in the 5-IV league.
Eighth grader George Arata is a second-team all-district player for the Jaguars.
Pope John Paul II coach Danny Clavier had plenty of praise for his defender.
“George was an eighth grader stepping in on the backline and played some holding/defending mid,” Clavier said. “He did an outstanding job competing against older and stronger players. He has a bright future. What I like about him is that he’s very open minded, listens to coaching and works really hard to apply it.”
