Jeffery Cotton

Mr. Jeffery Cotton, 55, passed away at St. Martin Hospital on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in Breaux Bridge.

Jeffery was born to the union of the late Robert Cotton and late Zelma Miller Cotton and was the fourth of five children.

Jeffery attended the Washington Parish School System and graduated from Franklinton High School in 1980 and went into the U.S. Army on Feb. 5, 1980.

He received numerous medals and decorations but specialized as a Heavy Anti Armor Weapons Crewman. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 4, 1986 from the U.S. Army Reserve.

Jeffery worked in numerous job fields where he made numerous friends and co-workers; but left Franklinton to attend truck driving school. Truck driving was his passion until becoming disabled in the year 2000.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 35 years, Vicki Partman Cotton, of Franklinton; six children: Jeffery Cotton Jr. of Franklinton, Danielle Cotton of Hammond, Darius Cotton of Savannah, Ga., Brianna Cotton, Tianna Cotton and DeAnte’ Cotton, all of Franklinton; one grandson, Aiden Charles Carter Sims of Hammond; two sisters, Gwendolyn (Kendall) Bickham of Franklinton, and Carolyn (Wayne) Jones of Cataula, Ga.; and two brothers; Carlton (Angela) Cotton of Las Vegas, Nev., and Gregory (Tracy) Cotton of Tacoma, Wash. He also leaves to cherish his memories: numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 6, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.

A graveside service will be Thursday, June 7, at noon at Bethel Church Cemetery with Elder Alvin Partman officiating.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton is in charge of arrangements.
