Lady Buccaneers tally 3-0 record in past week

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers have gone 3-0 over the last week with victories over Centreville Academy, Amite School Center and Central Private School.
Bowling Green defeated Centreville, 16-6, in a five-inning victory, as Cassidy Spears, Breanna Tobey, Kylee Burris and Dixie Camaille had strong games at home on Thursday, Aug. 23.
Spears went 3-for-4 with a homer and she drove in five runs.
Camaille tallied one hit, which was a big hit, as she hit a three-run homer.
Burris recorded three hits and two runs batted in.
Tobey had four hits in as many at-bats and she recorded an RBI.
Morgan Lusk went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Anna Claire Crowe also was 2-for-3 and she drove in two runs.
Landry Dupont had a hit and she drew two walks.
Winning pitcher Madelyn Burch struck out eight in three hitless innings, with no walks.
The other two contests were road games.
Bowling Green defeated Amite School Center, 4-1, on the road Monday.
Tobey had a 3-for-4 day with an RBI.
Spears went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the first inning.
Dupont, Burch and Hannah Varnado recorded a hit each.
Burch was the winning pitcher after throwing a complete game and allowing just two hits with eight strikeouts, five walks and a hit batter.
The following day, Bowling Green was an 11-6 winner over Central Private School, as Crowe had a solid game.
Crowe had three hits in four at-bats with three RBIs.
Lusk, Spears, Burch and Varnado all had two hits.
Lusk drove in three runs and Spears recorded two RBIs.
Tobey and Camaille had a hit each.
Burris was the winning pitcher.
Bowling Green improved to 11-10 this season.
The Lady Bucs will be back in action next week with a home game against Brookhaven Academy on Thursday, and a home contest against Wayne Academy on Saturday.
