“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

The Rev. Clarence Abrams, known as “Albert” to some of his friends and “Rev.” to others, was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Bogalusa to the late Izola Abrams and the late George McCray.

The Rev. Abrams attended school in Bogalusa and was a high school graduate of Central Memorial High School, class of 1969. After finishing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

In early years, the Rev. Abrams was a member of Thirkield United Methodist Church and late joined White Hall Baptist Church until the leadership of the Rev. Coleman Moses. The Rev. Abrams accepted his call to the ministry and was ordained April 13, 1999.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and faithful wife, Patricia Watterson Abrams of Bogalusa; four sons, Clarence (Ladedra) Abrams of Franklinton, Delrick Abrams Sr., Rodney Abrams and Aaron Abrams of Bogalusa; one daughter, Rhonda Abrams of Bogalusa; one sister, Mary Louise Crumedy of Jasper, Texas; one brother, Micheal (Geneva) McCray of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law, Richard (Hynetha) Harris of Baton Rouge, James Watterson of Vernon, Texas, Charles Watterson and Will Peters of Bogalusa; and a sister-in-law, Rosetta Tillman of Bogalusa.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 12, at White Hall Missionary Baptist Church, located at 714 Okechobee Ave. in Bogalusa, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Silas Thomas and the Rev. Stanley Nathaniel officiating.

Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemtery.
