James Goings

James Louis Goings was a lifelong resident of Bogalusa. He was born March 16, 1950. He passed away on Oct. 8, 2018, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, at the age of 68. He was a member of Love Missionary Baptist Church and also served in the United States Naval Air Reserve.

Mr. Goings leaves behind his son, Christopher (Ava) Goings of Baton Rouge; his two daughters, Marcie (Patrick Adams) Penny of Pine, and Datche (Blake) Walker of Florence, Miss.; a brother, Butch Goings of Bogalusa; two sisters, Jeanne (Regie) Smith of Covington, and Gwendlyn (Mike) Templet of Baton Rouge; his three grandchildren, Halie Turner of Bogalusa, Ava Walker of Florence, and Westin Walker of Florence. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, H.A. and Evelyn Goings.

Visitation will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m., and will continue until service begins at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
