A Washington Parish man was arrested Thursday and charged with forcible rape, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Adam Bush, 20, a resident of Robin Lane near Highway 440 northwest of Franklinton, was arrested by WPSO detectives on an arrest warrant signed by a 22nd District Court Judge. Bush remains in the Washington Parish Jail on the rape charge. Bond was set at $250,000 late Friday afternoon.
Due to the sensitive nature of the crime and to protect the identity of the victim, additional information will not be released, Haley said.
Sheriff Randy Seal was forthcoming in his response to the arrest.
“The details of this crime are beyond comprehension of the decent citizens of our parish. It is inconceivable that anyone could violate the rights, privacy and sanctity of another person in such a despicable manner,” Seal said. “I applaud both the forensic interviewer at the Child Advocacy Center and our detectives for making this arrest happen. Bush is now in jail, where he belongs.”
