Bogalusa’s Wager finishes 36th in cross-country meet

Bogalusa’s Dustin Wager finished in 36th place in the Metairie Park Country Day Invitational cross-country meet that took place in City Park in New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Wager ran the three-mile race in 20 minutes, 17 seconds, as 82 runners participated.
Teammate Donald Lewis was 60th in 22:55. Jaylon Scott clocked a 27:25 for 76th.
Tyron Johnson timed a 28:21 and Dany Doung ran a 29:01 for 81st and 82nd, respectively.
Bogalusa was 10th in the team scores.
Carver’s Lugman Rasheed captured the race in 17:13.
Rasheed won the race by just less than 10 seconds, as Brother Martin’s Ahmad Wilson ran in 17:23 for second.
Brother Martin teammates Cameron Johnson (17:27), Abe Bernstein (17:32) and Emanuel Ochoa (17:39) rounded out the top five.
Brother Martin won the team portion of the race with 21 points, as 11 teams competed.
Metairie Park Country Day was second with 57 points, followed by St. Amant’s 128, Archbishop Shaw’s 131 and Patrick Taylor Science/Technology’s 147.
