Pictured is Varnado, who are the Washington Parish School System Junior High School Champions. The team defeated Franklinton, 6-0, in the championship game that was held Tuesday. The team finished with 5-1 record. Varnado coach Shadd Pittman said he is “thankful for my boys and their willingness to work hard and stick with it this year, their hard work and consistency paid off.” He said he is thankful for his assistant Steven Kittelson for all of his hard work and sacrificed time with his family. Pittman also said he is thankful to Principal Jennifer Beninato and athletic director Brett Cooper for their trust in him to coach these young men.
