Tuesday, Nov. 6, is Election Day for Louisiana and the rest of the United States. Washington Parish voters will voice their opinion on a variety of local, state and national races, as well as six state amendments and one parish proposition.
Polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Voters should bring an I.D. with them to vote, such as a Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana special I.D. card or another generally recognized picture identification card with a name and signature, such as a passport. Voters who do not have a picture ID, will be asked identifying questions by the poll worker and asked to sign an identification affidavit before voting.
Voters can find their precinct and sample ballot by downloading the Geaux Vote app for smartphones or by visiting www.sos.la.gov. Election real-time results can also be viewed online through the app or website.
