Varnado’s Wildcats suffered a 52-26 loss to Mangham in non-district action on Senior Night at Varnado.
Varnado coach Anthony Hicks said the Wildcats’ outside game played a big part.
“With Kevis Brooks in the slot our sweeps to the outside gave us big yards,” Hicks said.
Hicks said that defensively, they could not keep Mangham’s offense off of the field because of their solid running game up the middle.
Varnado finished the regular season with a 2-7 record.
The Wildcats will head to Sicily Island for the first round of the playoffs on Friday, with a scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff.
Mangham went 3-7 this season.
