Christmas in the Park is now open each night until Dec. 25th

Local citizens who haven’t yet been able to view “Christmas in the Park” still have plenty of options left until Tuesday, Dec. 25.
The annual outdoor light show at Cassidy Park will now be open every single night until Christmas. This is the 25th anniversary of the event.
The drive-through time is from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., and the walk-through time is from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The cost to drive through is $8 per vehicle. The cost for the walk-through is $4 for adults and $1 for kids. Kids are considered as 3 years of age through college students.
There will be pictures with Santa every night that Christmas in the Park is open, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas night.
There will be special activities for the kids on Friday, Dec. 21, including “Cookies and Crafts,” Rudy the Reindeer, Freddy the Yeti and The Grinch dress-up characters.
Local groups will also be performing on the Back Stage on various days, including:
- Dec. 20 — Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church choir.
- Dec. 21 — Ben’s Ford Baptist Church choir.
You will not want to miss the Christmas lights performance on the main stage that consists of a multitude of exciting holiday lights that are synchronized to popular Christmas music. This performance will play consecutively every night that Christmas in the Park is open.
Finally, Christmas in the Park will be celebrating the birth of Jesus during the Christmas season, with a live nativity. Churches and dates are:
- Dec. 19 — Monroe Street Baptist Church.
- Dec. 20 — Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
- Dec. 21 — Ben’s Ford Baptist Church.
