Berlis Watson Jr. was born Oct. 31, 1946, in Mt Hermon. He was the fifth of 13 children born to the late Berlis Watson Sr. and Altha Mae Brumfield Watson.

Berlis Jr. lived in Mt Hermon working as a farm laborer and auto mechanic. He then relocated to Franklinton, where his mother lived and assisted in her care until her passing. He later resided at the Good Samaritan Living Center until his death on Jan. 5, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Mt. Hermon.
