Bogalusa’s Thompson strong at meet

Bogalusa’s Clydeterrious Thompson tallied a trio of top-10 finishes in the LHSAA Last Chance Qualifier Indoor Meet that took place Saturday at LSU.
Thompson was in the top 10 for the long jump, 60 meters and the 400 meters.
Thompson took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 3 inches in a field of 61. Teammate Haikem Thompson was 41st at 17-5. St. Thomas More’s C.J. Hill won the event at 22-9.
Thompson was sixth in the 60 after running it in 7.02. The event featured 114 runners and the top eight went to the finals. West Feliciana’s Kam Jackson was victorious with a time of 6.88. The times and finishes for Thompson and Jackson are from the finals. Teammate Dre’Toris Mark was 32nd with a time of 10.41.
Thompson ran a 51.74 in the 400 to finish eighth in a field of 102. Catholic High’s D.J. Butler was the winner in 49.69.
Bogalusa’s Dustin Wager was 62nd in the 1,600 meters, after running it in 5 minutes, 18 seconds, with 106 competing. Catholic High’s Collin Hedges won in 4:32.
Bogalusa’s Donald Lewis was 63rd of 102 in the 800 meters, after completing the race in 2:21. C.E. Byrd’s Ladan Thomas won in 2:01.
Bogalusa’s 4×800 relay team was 26th after a 9:36. The group featured Wager, Mark, Lewis and Thompson. St. Paul’s School was victorious in the field of 30 after a time of 8:15.11.
