Mt. Hermon wins 2-of-3 in tourney

Mt. Hermon School’s Yellow Jackets won two of three games in the Anacoco Tournament that was held Friday and Saturday.
Mt. Hermon played two games Friday and split the contests.
The first was a 7-4 victory over Hornbeck.
Kam Brumfield went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Colby Smith and Travell Brumfield both doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Winning pitcher Byron Hyatt allowed no earned runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and five walks over five innings.
The Yellow Jackets came up short in the next game, falling 5-4 against defending Class B state champion Oak Hill.
Tevin Williams hit a home run.
Brumfield tallied two hits, a run, an RBI and a stolen base.
Trey Brumfield tripled, walked twice, scored twice, drove in a run and stole a pair of bases.
Smith got the loss, but allowed just one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts and four walks in five innings.
Saturday’s game was a 21-11 victory over East Beauregard.
Clinton Roux went 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of stolen bases.
Smith had two hits, a walk, got hit, drove in three runs and stole a base.
