Raiders sweep doubleheader

Pine’s Raiders swept Amite in a District 9-2A road doubleheader, 16-6 and 17-2, on Friday.
Kaden Fersch recorded three hits, including one for a double, scored two runs and had two RBIs in the opener, which was the 16-6 contest.
Coby Sheridan singled three times and scored two runs.
Kendall Sheridan went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Will Adams singled twice and scored two runs.
Ian Turner singled, scored two runs and drove in a run.
Devan Whaley had a hit and two runs scored.
Dallen Magee singled and scored a run.
Logan Temples had a pair of RBIs while Chase Cooper recorded one.
Luke Fonda scored a run and drove in three runs.
Karson Voth scored a run.
Pine led 4-1 through two innings before posting 10 straight runs with seven in the fourth and three in the fifth to go up 14-1. Amite avoided the 10-run rule with four in the fifth to make it 14-5. Pine scored a run each in the sixth and seventh while Amite tallied a single run in the sixth.
The next game was the 17-2 contest, which was in five innings.
Turner had a big game, posting two hits, including a triple. He drove in four runs and scored four runs.
Fonda had three hits that included a double and four runs scored.
Adams went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and he scored four runs.
Temples hit a home run, drove in two and scored a run.
Kendall Sheridan doubled and had an RBI.
Coby Sheridan singled twice, drove in a run and scored a run.
Cooper singled, drove in two runs scored a run.
Whaley had two RBI and a run scored.
Bryce Bennett and Fersch drove in a run each and Blaine Polk scored a run.
Winning pitcher Cooper allowed two runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and a walk over the five innings.
Pine trailed 1-0 after the first inning, but scored 13 straight runs with four each in the second and third inning with five more in the fourth and four in the fifth. Amite’s second run came in the fourth.
