Franklinton’s Lady Demons went 2-1 in the St. Thomas Aquinas Tournament that took place Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Demons lost Friday’s game, but came back on Saturday with a pair of wins.
Friday’s game was a 13-9 setback to Ponchatoula.
Bailey Brooks singled twice, scored a run and drove in three runs.
Ashlan Ard doubled and scored three runs.
Missouri Varnado singled twice, scored a run and had an RBI.
Brylie Fowler and Aleigha Fussell both singled and tallied an RBI.
Albanie Fussell recorded a hit and two runs batted in.
Bailey Spears scored two runs and Kiersten Allen and Ashlyn Welch posted a run each.
Franklinton began Saturday by hanging on for a 10-9 win over University Lab.
The Lady Demons were up 10-6 through four innings, but University scored three in the sixth. Franklinton held them scoreless in the seventh for the victory.
Ard had a big game, going 2-for-3. She hit two home runs, scored two runs and she drove in five runs.
Brooks tallied three hits, two for doubles and two runs scored.
Fowler singled twice, drove in a run and scored a run.
Aleigha Fussell singled twice and drove in a run.
Welch had a pair of singles and two runs scored.
Varnado recorded a pair of hits and a run scored.
Spears singled and scored twice.
The next game was a 14-2 five-inning victory over St. Thomas Aquinas.
Ard led Franklinton’s 13-hit attack with three hits, three runs scored and an RBI.
Spears tallied two hits, including a double, and two runs scored.
Albanie Fussell singled, tripled and drove in a pair of runs.
Varnado had two hits, one for a double, with two RBIs and a run scored.
Allen singled, scored three runs and drove one home.
Welch singled, scored twice and drove in two runs.
Brooks doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Aleigha Fussell singled and had an RBI.
Fowler and Nielson scored a run each.
Aleigha Fussell allowed one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
On Monday, Franklinton won a home game over Albany, 6-3, in non-tournament play.
Albanie Fussell singled twice and drove in a run.
Brooks had a hit and two runs batted in.
Spears and Welch singled and scored a run each.
Aleigha Fussell doubled.
Allen scored a run and drove in two.
Fowler, Kayla Barclay and Aaliyah Faour all scored a run.
Aleigha Fussell allowed three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and four walks over the complete game performance.
Franklinton led 2-0 through two innings. Albany scored three in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead, but the Lady Demons responded with four in the bottom of the inning to take the 6-3 lead.
