Franklinton’s Demons went 0-3 last week.
The Demons lost to Lakeshore in District 8-4A games held last Tuesday and Wednesday and a non-district contest against Loranger on Saturday.
Last Tuesday, Franklinton lost to Lakeshore, which is second in the unofficial Class 4A LHSAA power rankings, 10-4.
Jalen Burkhalter singled, scored a run and drove in one.
Jared Jenkins and Noah Breland singled and scored a run each.
Nate Bracey singled and drove in a run.
Jordan McKenzie had an RBI and Landon Keller tallied a run.
Franklinton trailed 5-0 through three innings before scoring two in the fourth. Lakeshore countered with one in its half of the frame to make it 6-2. Franklinton came back with two more in the fifth, but Lakeshore added three in the fifth and one in the sixth in the 10-4 contest.
Last Wednesday’s game was a 7-4 loss at home.
Bracey recorded two hits, including a double and a pair of runs batted in.
McKenzie doubled, recorded two RBIs and scored a run.
Burkhalter, Verrett and Jenkins all scored a run.
Franklinton took a 4-0 lead through one inning, but Lakeshore scored three in the second and two each in the fifth and sixth inning.
Thursday’s win was Lakeshore’s 19th-straight.
On Saturday, Franklinton was topped by Loranger, 6-4, in a home game.
Burkhalter recorded two hits, a run scored and a run batted in.
McKenzie singled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Hunter Blackwell tallied a hit and an RBI.
Jenkins singled and scored a run.
Wyatt Verret and Landon Keller both had a single each.
Bracey drove in a run and Richard Berry tallied a run.
Blackwell allowed two earned runs on eight hits, with three strikeouts and no walks in a complete game. Franklinton committed three errors.
Loranger took a 3-0 lead through one inning. Franklinton pulled within one at 3-2 with a pair of runs in the third inning. Loranger made it 4-2 in the top of the fifth, but the Demons came back and tied the game, 4-4, with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
Loranger scored two more in the seventh to take the lead and the Demons were unable to come back in the 6-4 contest.
