Marvin Dwain Creel, 61, a resident of Bogalusa, died Monday night, April 22, 2019, at his home. Alongside his wife, Dwain was a delivery driver for the Bogalusa Daily News for 15 years. He was also a mechanic that enjoyed fixing the cars of his friends and family.
Dwain was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church who liked to watch his favorite Old Western TV shows. He loved fishing, especially in the Pearl River. Dwain spent his life working on cars and mowing yards. He never let his diagnosis hinder him. In the past three years, he grew a love of traveling. He loved food, loved his friends and most especially loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Creel; children and spouses, Benny Edwards and Matt Tabor, Amanda and Scott Payne, Crystal and Franklin Conques, and Lisa Creel; grandchildren, Megan Garner, Mason Edwards, Creighton Woodward, Caiden Woodward, X’Zayveon Creel, Benjamin Edwards, Anderson Edwards, Keagan Payne, Bennett Edwards, Brayden Conques, Raiden Creel, Lincoln Conques and Laelah Badeaux; mother, Geneva Creel; siblings and spouses, Pearline Barber, with whom Dwain shared a special relationship, Billy Wayne and Joyce Creel, Michael Wayne Creel, Wilda Lavigne, Jerry Wayne Creel, Caroline and Greg Davis, Jackie Erwin, and Richard and Renee Creel; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Creel; sisters, Rebecca Fournet and Hilda Jordan; and brothers, Kenneth Creel and Leroy Creel.
Visitation will be at New Life Pentecostal Church (1600 Jefferson Street, Bogalusa) on Thursday, April 25, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Friday, April 26. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, with Bro. Wesley Quave and Bro. Charles Ray Creel officiating. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Barber, Russell Barber, Thad Haik, Marcus Lowery, Mason Edwards and Ky Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Creighton Woodward, Caiden Woodward, Keagan Payne, X’Zayveon Creel, Raiden Creel, Brayden Conques and Lincoln Conques.
