Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Alston Moore is headed to the Class AA Overall Meet after qualifying in the South State Meet last Wednesday at Silliman Institute.
Moore was third in the discus with a throw of 102 feet, 2 inches.
Centreville Academy’s Wyatt Brabham won the event at 139-2.
Ben’s Ford’s Austin Stogner was fifth in the discus after throwing an 89-7.
Wednesday’s field events and Saturday’s track events were the opportunity for athletes to reach the Class AA Overall Meet. The top four finishers from each event made it to the overall meet. The field portion of the overall meet will take place Friday at Jackson Academy.
Centreville Academy won the team competition with 11 points, as nine teams posted at least one point.
Clinton Christian Academy was second with 68.5, followed by Sylva Bay Academy’s 55.5, River Oaks School’s 18 and Lamar Christian School’s 14. Ben’s Ford was seventh, with four points.
