Queen Long

Queen Victoria Long passed away May 23, 2019, at St. Clara assistance living home at the age of 91. Queen Victoria Long born to Indiana and Lattermore Long on Dec. 1, 1927 in Franklinton.
She was baptized at the age of 6 at Bethel Church under the leadership of Bishop WMM Mitchell. She was a faithful member of Bethel Church, serving as record keeper of the National Conventions claims of Bethel Church. She attended Church and Sunday School until her health failed her and could no longer attend.
Victoria’s early schooling was at Bethel Church. Later she attended Washington Parish School of Higher Learning. She married Willie B. Magee in 1951, to this union was born one child, Erskine Magee.
Victoria is survived by one son, Erskine (Donna) Magee; six grandchildren, Patrick Magee of New Orleans, Michael and Michele Magee of Sorrento, Monica Magee of Geismar, Jamie Magee, Devon Magee and Bobby Magee, all of Union City, Ga.; six great-grandchildren, Jachele Perkins, Kayla Magee, Patrick Jr. Magee, Lyla Magee, Keith Adams and Logan Adams; one sister, Melva D. Conerly of Franklinton; and adopted sister, Jenella Burris of Franklinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Victoria was preceded in death by her mother, Indiana Long; father, Lattermore Long; and one sister, Clara Mae Brumfield.
Visitation will be Friday, May 31, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA, with Elder Alvin Partman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
