A Bogalusa man was killed late Friday evening, in a single-vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish, according to the Louisiana State Police.

According to LSP officials, on Friday, at approximately 10 p.m., troopers from LSP Troop L were notified of a serious injury crash on Louisiana Highway 437 near Playmakers Road in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of Eric Jason Quave, 42, of Bogalusa.

The initial investigation led troopers to determine that the crash occurred as Quave was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Highway 437. As Quave’s vehicle entered a right curve, his vehicle traveled into the southbound lane and into the ditch on the southbound side of the roadway. After entering the ditch, Quave’s vehicle impacted an embankment and overturned.

Quave, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from his vehicle. He sustained severe injuries and was transported to St. Tammany Parish Hospital by Acadian Ambulance in critical condition. Shortly after Quave’s arrival, he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
