Faye Dorthy Jackson Parnell transitioned from this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late Savannah Hatcher and the late Earnest Jackson. She was raised and reared by her maternal grandparents, the late Loran and Nazea Peters. As a young lady she became the family beautician, and passed it down to her children and grandchildren.
Faye loved fishing; this gave her so much peace. Faye was a longtime member of Mary’s Chapel U.M.C. and later joined New Triumph M.B.C. under the leadership of the Rev. E.L. Powell.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Lori Mixon and Laura (Micheal) Rankins; seven grandchildren, Donté Bell, Talage Ratlift, Shunta Peters, Pokeyto Peters, Naketra Guy, Tyetra Guy and Gloria Johnson; three sisters, Lucile Nichols, Ella (William T.) Foster and Mary May; three devoted friends, Tressie Henry (who she loved as a daughter), Gloria Peters, Marie Brock; and a longtime partner, W.J. McGowan.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Mary’s Chapel U.M.C., located at 63343 Parish Highway 420 in Angie. The funeral service will start at 11 a.m. at the church.
