Ben’s Ford Christian School scrimmaged Wilkinson County Christian Academy on Friday and plays in a jamboree in two days.
In Friday’s road scrimmage, teams ran series of plays and had some goal line work.
“I think overall it was good,” Ben’s Ford Christian School coach Tommy Pittman said. “We learned a lot. That was the first time we faced another eight-man team. We saw what we had to work on and it was a good gauge of where we were as far as scheming. We were able to see what worked better overall. That’s what we gained as the main thing.”
Wilkinson County Christian Academy had a few touchdowns.
Ben’s Ford scored a pair of touchdowns during the goal line portion on runs by Austin Stogner and Daniel Martin.
Ben’s Ford also forced a few fumbles defensively.
On Friday, the Eagles are headed to Prentiss Christian School to play in a jamboree.
“We looking forward to it,” Pittman said. “It’ll be kind of a normal preparation week for us. We’ll have more of our guys participating who weren’t able to participate in the scrimmage. We’ll put in adjustments and see how they pan out.”
Ben’s Ford will alternate junior varsity and varsity games, beginning with a JV game at 6 p.m. The Eagles will play Wilkinson County Christian Academy in junior varsity action with the 6 p.m. kickoff, followed by a varsity game against WCCA. They will then do the same against Prentiss Christian School, again, starting with the junior varsity.
Both games will last one quarter. JV games are eight minutes with a running clock while varsity contests are 10 minutes under the typical clock rules.
