Melanie Neal

Mrs. Melanie Holtzclaw Neal passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, in Covington, surrounded by family, at the age of 42.

She was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa. Melanie was employed with, Louisiana Department of Health as Lead Administrative Coordinator, at the Washington Parish Health Unit. With grace and poise, Melanie fought a most difficult battle until the very end. Her ability to find beauty in so many things in life was merely a reflection of her most beautiful spirit. Her witty and subtle sense of humor was as natural for her as was her infectious smile.

Melanie is survived by loving husband, Jason Brett Neal of Franklinton; two daughters, Clea Davis of Franklinton, and Cori Neal of Franklinton; her parents, Ralph And Jennifer Lee Holtzclaw of Bogalusa; one brother, Jesse Holtzclaw and his wife Paige of Spartanburg, S.C.; and one sister, Briana Clarke and her husband Jesse of Covington. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Vera Holtzclaw; and her maternal grandparents, Donald and Donna Lee.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services, on Sunday, Aug. 25, at First Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa, at 4 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2 p.m., until service time. Officiating will be the Rev. Travis Houston. Interment will immediately follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
