Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks were defeated by Jewel Sumner, 43-0, in a District 8-3A contest held Friday night on the road.
Josh Taylor threw for 96 yards and two interceptions.
Tajdryn Forbes caught two passes for 54 yards.
Raheem Roberts made four receptions for 35 yards.
Tyrese Roussell had two catches for 13 yards. He also ran for 14 yards.
“I hope our kids learned a valuable lesson Friday night,” Bogalusa coach Adam Brumfield said. “We didn’t have a good week of practice this week and our kids know it. When that happens, you usually have poor results on Friday. We have to tackle better on defense and on offense we executed very poorly. We lost a couple close ballgames in a row and it took a toll on our kids mentally and it showed (last Friday) night.
“We have to become mentally tougher and more consistent in order to be successful. We struggle with adversity and doing the right thing instead of what we want to do individually. (On Friday), we play Loranger who’s undefeated and we need a win to get in the playoffs. We will need to practice better to give ourselves a chance.
“Our team is capable of beating anyone with the right mindset and execution, but like I said, we will have to practice and have a better level of focus than we did last week.”
Bogalusa will be hosting Loranger, as the Lumberjacks celebrate Senior Night on Friday.
The Lumberjacks are 3-6 overall and 0-3 in league play.
Loranger is 9-0 overall and 3-0 in league play this season, after defeating Archbishop Hannan 20-19 last week.
