Mt. Hermon School’s Yellow Jackets suffered a 75-68 loss to Family Christian School in the 2019-20 season opener Monday night.
Tevin Williams led the Yellow Jackets in points with 17.
He was one of three players in double figures for Mt. Hermon. Tristan Brumfield tallied 13, and Travell Brumfield posted 10.
Michquel Spears had seven points while LaQuarry Alexander tallied six, JaQuarrian Alexander recorded five and Keondre Bunch had four. Jeremy Bickham and Keey’ontreh Williams put up two each, and Jordan Harrison added one.
The Yellow Jackets committed 42 turnovers.
Mt. Hermon trailed by 27 in the second quarter, but trimmed the deficit to two in the fourth. Family Christian pulled away again, however, partially due to going 10-for-12 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
Mt. Hermon played again on Friday. The Yellow Jackets’ next game will be a road game against Grand Isle on Friday. The junior varsity boys will start at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity girls and varsity boys. The game will be the girls’ season opener.
