Several local teams competing in Thanksgiving week tournaments

Several basketball teams from Washington Parish will be competing in tournaments during the Thanksgiving week.
Bogalusa and Franklinton’s boys teams will be playing in the Lakeshore Titans Thanksgiving Shootout 2019 that takes place Monday, Nov. 25, through Wednesday, Nov. 27.
Three games are being held the first two days, beginning at 4:30 p.m., while five games take place on the final day, starting at 10 a.m.
On Monday, Franklinton plays Northshore at 4:30 p.m. while Bogalusa goes against Lakeshore at 7:30 p.m.
The next day, Franklinton and Bogalusa play in back-to-back games.
Franklinton goes against Ridgewood at 6 p.m., followed by Bogalusa and Chalmette at 7:30 p.m.
The two local teams wrap up play on that Wednesday, as Bogalusa plays Northshore at 11:30 a.m. and Franklinton goes against Chalmette at 1 p.m.
Mt. Hermon School and Varnado are playing in the Team Sportsplex Thanksgiving Tournament, hosted by The Dunham School on Nov. 25-26.
Games are being played at the Team Sportsplex on Perkins Road and at The Dunham School.
Both teams are playing three games over the two days.
Varnado plays two games on Nov. 25, which are set for 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The 1 p.m. contest is against Brusly at the Team Sportsplex and the 5:30 p.m. game is against The Dunham School at The Dunham School.
Varnado’s final game in the tournament will be at 2:30 p.m. against Assumption at the Team Sportsplex on Nov. 26.
Mt. Hermon also has two games on Nov. 25.
The Yellow Jackets will play The Dunham School at 2:30 p.m. at The Dunham School, before going against Family Christian School at 7 p.m. at the Team Sportsplex.
Mt. Hermon’s final game of the tournament is being held at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 26 against Thrive Academy at the Team Sportsplex.
In MAIS action, Bowling Green School’s boys and girls basketball teams are playing in two tournaments.
The first is the Brookhaven Academy Thanksgiving Tournament, which is being held Nov. 25-26.
Both teams play in back-to-back games both days.
On Nov. 25, the girls will play against Jackson Academy at noon while the boys will be going against Adams County Christian School at 1:30 p.m.
Both teams will face off against Brookhaven Academy the following day.
The girls will play at 6 p.m., while the boys will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
Later that week, both teams will play in the Poplarville Thanksgiving Invitational that will take place Nov. 29-30 at Pearl River Community College.
Bowling Green’s teams will play on the first day and will be in back-to-back games.
The boys will play against Bay High at 4:30 and the girls will face Poplarville at 6 p.m.
